Patel, Greene and Associates (PGA) is seeking a motivated and curious STEP Intern to gain hands-on experience while contributing to transportation engineering projects. Available in our Orlando, Bartow, Tampa, and Fort Lauderdale offices, the May–August program offers exposure to PGA's core disciplines, Roadway, Drainage, Structures, and Traffic/ITS, as well as Planning, Landscape Architecture, Facilities Preservation, Marketing, GIS, PD&E, Design Development, and Environmental. Interns will work alongside staff on real project design tasks, exploring the many facets of the transportation industry.
Interns will
Gain proficiency with construction plans production
Understand the concepts of geometry design
Understand the development of pay item quantities and calculations
Understand the process for development of a project cost estimate
Effectively research projects and assist with marketing efforts
Gain knowledge in all design standards, manuals, and criteria
Require regular technical supervision of tasks by technical or senior staff
Complete tasks and projects within established supervisor's expectations
Support technical and senior staff with the development of plans, documents, and reports
Compile documents in PDF for review or submittal
Interns should:
Be enrolled in an ABET Accredited Engineering Program
Have a reliable form of transportation
Interns will bring:
