Sr. Director, Security

This is a senior leadership role, not an entry-level job — but if you're early in your career and thinking long-term, understand what you're aiming for. Zapier is hiring a Sr. Director of Security to lead the entire security organization. The right person has a clear path toward Chief Security Officer. You'll shape how a critical vendor protects millions of users and the world's largest enterprises.

You'll own strategy, build and lead a security team, and defend against emerging threats in an AI-forward company. Zapier builds automation and AI products on frontier models, which means the threat landscape is evolving fast. This role requires someone who can think strategically about security architecture, vendor risk, and organizational growth — not just technical depth.

This role typically goes to experienced security leaders with 10+ years in the field. If you're a recent grad, this tells you what to build toward: security engineering fundamentals, cloud infrastructure knowledge, and ideally some exposure to AI/ML systems. A computer science or cybersecurity degree helps. Start with hands-on security roles, then move into leadership.
