Specialty Representative, Dermatology

Job Description:

  • Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
  • Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
  • Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
  • Handle objections, concerns, and misunderstandings and secure calls to action to close sales
  • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements
  • Develop and execute call plans that optimize customer coverage and frequency
  • Build knowledge of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical topics, and sales
  • Share market intelligence with field, brand, and sales management teams
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers
  • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time
  • Collaborate with specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, field team members, sales management, marketing, training, customer excellence, and brand-plan stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • Relevant and equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, with three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
  • High school diploma/GED required when using industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
  • Proven track record of success in selling
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach
  • Ability to develop innovative ideas and solutions to maximize business opportunities
  • Ability to influence others and serve as a credible and respected role model/resource
  • Collaborative partnership skills in district and matrix teams
  • Documented success in leadership and support roles of increased responsibility
  • Understanding of findings to develop sales strategies
  • Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing
  • English language proficiency verbally and in writing
  • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain credentials
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
  • Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
