Senior DevOps Engineer – Eligible for SC/NPPV3
Job Description:
- Take ownership of cloud infrastructure from provisioning through to day-to-day operations
- Work closely with the Solutions Architect on significant infrastructure changes
- Use Infrastructure as Code as the default and maintain and improve the infrastructure setup
- Keep CI/CD pipelines fast and reliable
- Investigate and properly fix pipeline failures and slowdowns
- Monitor environments for performance, uptime, and resource usage
- Respond to and troubleshoot operational issues
- Research industry developments and propose better ways of working
- Bring ideas, run spikes, and make the case for improvements
- Work closely with wider teams to understand needs and provide DevOps solutions
- Contribute to secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions across major national public-sector programmes
Requirements:
- Several years running cloud infrastructure in production on AWS
- Experience with Azure is a bonus
- Knowledge of Terraform beyond the basics; Teragrunt is a bonus
- Experience managing complex estates, writing reusable modules, and working across multiple environments
- Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes and ArgoCD
- Ability to write Python or Bash for automation
- Experience creating CI/CD pipelines; CircleCI is a bonus
- Understanding of security considerations and deployment risk
- SC eligibility required
- Pre-existing right to work and travel within the EU; documentary evidence required
- Satisfactory vetting and reference checks required
- A Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check may be required depending on the role
