Wasef Health is a physician-led national telemedicine provider group supporting high-volume digital health programs across the United States. Our clinical teams provide care across a variety of telehealth programs, with a significant focus on medical weight management and GLP-1 therapy.

We are expanding our clinical support infrastructure and are looking for experienced Registered Nurses to provide remote nursing support to patients nationwide.

This is a clinical nursing role, not a customer-service or scripted call-center position. Nurses must be comfortable independently assessing patients, providing appropriate nursing education and guidance, recognizing when a concern requires escalation, and documenting each encounter clearly and thoroughly.

The Role

Registered Nurses will conduct outbound telephone consultations with patients who have questions or clinical concerns related to their treatment.

Common patient concerns may include:

• Medication and dosing questions
• GLP-1 side effects and symptom management
• Injection and administration questions
• Questions regarding expected treatment response
• Lifestyle and weight-management counseling
• Missed or delayed doses
• Questions regarding a provider's treatment plan
• Determining whether symptoms can be managed at home or require escalation
• Identifying patients who require provider follow-up or in-person evaluation

The RN will review the patient's chart and existing treatment plan, contact the patient by phone, assess the concern, provide appropriate nursing guidance within scope, document the encounter, and determine the appropriate disposition.

RNs will not independently prescribe medications or change medication orders. Issues requiring changes to the medical treatment plan will be escalated to the appropriate provider.

How the Schedule Works

This is a flexible remote position.

You will provide your ongoing availability to our scheduling team. Patient consultations will then be scheduled during the hours you make available.

Consultations are focused telephone encounters, and experienced nurses should be comfortable working efficiently in a high-volume telehealth environment. Once trained and comfortable with the workflow, the expected productivity is approximately 6 consultations per hour, depending on patient complexity.

In addition to scheduled consultations, there will be an open clinical queue available for nurses who would like to complete additional consultations outside of their scheduled workload.

There is significant ongoing patient volume.

Compensation

This role is structured as a per-consult 1099 contractor position, with earnings that typically equate to an hourly rate based on completed consult volume.

• Compensation is based on completed patient encounters (connected and appropriately documented no-contact encounters)
• Nurses are paid for completed clinical work rather than time logged
• This structure allows flexibility while ensuring fair compensation for all completed encounters

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet all of the following:

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) multistate RN license with multistate practice privileges
• Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience
• Minimum 1 year of telehealth nursing experience
• Experience independently triaging patients using clinical nursing judgment
• Ability to determine when a patient can safely remain at home versus when escalation or in-person evaluation is appropriate
• Experience providing patient education and clinical counseling by telephone
• Strong clinical documentation skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Comfortable navigating multiple software platforms simultaneously while speaking with and documenting on patients
• Reliable computer, internet connection, and private HIPAA-appropriate workspace

GLP-1 Experience

Direct clinical experience working with patients receiving GLP-1 medications is strongly preferred.

We are specifically looking for nurses who have had professional clinical involvement with GLP-1 patients—not simply personal familiarity with these medications.

Relevant experience may include:

• Telehealth medical weight-management programs
• Obesity medicine or endocrinology
• Clinical medication-management programs
• Emergency department experience managing GLP-1 side effects or complications
• Medical-surgical experience caring for patients experiencing GLP-1 complications
• Procedural or radiology nursing involving GLP-1 medication management
• Other nursing roles involving direct counseling, triage, or management of patients taking GLP-1 medications

Licensure – Very Important

Because our patients are located throughout the United States, broad state licensure is extremely valuable for this position.

Required

You must hold an active NLC multistate RN license.

Strongly Preferred

Additional individual RN licenses in noncompact states.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are also licensed in:

• California
• New York
• Illinois

Candidates holding an NLC multistate license plus California, New York, and/or Illinois licensure will receive priority consideration.

Candidates with very broad multistate or nationwide RN licensure are especially encouraged to apply.

The strongest candidate is an experienced nurse who can independently conduct a clinical conversation rather than simply follow a decision-tree script.

You should be comfortable:

• Clarifying a patient's actual concern
• Asking appropriate follow-up questions
• Reviewing the patient's existing treatment plan before giving guidance
• Assessing symptoms and medication side effects
• Providing clear patient education
• Recognizing red flags
• Knowing when something is outside nursing scope
• Escalating appropriately to a provider or other care setting
• Documenting exactly what was assessed, discussed, and recommended
• Moving efficiently from one patient consultation to the next

We provide protocols, workflows, clinical resources, and platform training, but this role requires an RN who already has strong clinical judgment.
