Must-Have Skills

• 8+ years of experience in IT Operations, Incident Management, Monitoring, or Platform Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience administering and configuring PagerDuty
• End-to-end PagerDuty platform configuration, including:
  • Services
  • Escalation Policies
  • On-Call Schedules
  • Event Rules
  • Notification Profiles
  • Integrations
• Experience designing urgency and alert-routing models based on business criticality
• Strong experience with time-based routing and out-of-hours alert management
• Experience implementing intelligent alert grouping and event orchestration
• Proven ability to reduce alert noise across multiple monitoring sources
• Experience defining event rules for:
  • Suppression
  • Deduplication
  • Priority Downgrades
• Experience implementing flap detection and alert consolidation
• Experience configuring maintenance-window integrations for automated alert suppression
• Ability to maintain suppression transparency and reporting
• Experience designing and managing on-call schedules, including follow-the-sun coverage and rotation policies
• Experience auditing and optimizing alert-routing accuracy and first-responder assignment
• Experience building and maintaining incident runbooks with diagnostics and remediation actions
• Strong experience integrating PagerDuty with:
  • APM tools
  • Infrastructure monitoring
  • Cloud monitoring
  • Schedulers
  • Webhooks
• Experience collaborating with monitoring SMEs, including Dynatrace and IBM SevOne
• Strong experience with PagerDuty–ServiceNow integration
• Experience configuring incident creation and incident lifecycle synchronization
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Education
