Electric Transportation Repair (ETR) is hiring an Entry-Level Electric Scooter & E-Bike Technician! Are you handy with tools? Do you love tinkering with electronics, mechanical parts, or taking things apart just to see how they work? Skip the corporate retail jobs and build a real, high-demand technical skill set in the rapidly growing micro-mobility industry! At ETR, we are changing how San Jose moves. We specialize in diagnosing, repairing, and custom-building electric scooters and e-bikes. We don't expect you to know everything on day one—we will train you on the job. If you have a great attitude, basic mechanical troubleshooting skills, and a desire to learn, we want you on our team. Location: Onsite at 1181 N 4th St, Suite 10, San Jose, CA 95112Job Type: Full-Time (Entry-Level)Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday (Fixed days off: Sunday and Monday). Must be available to work every Saturday. What You Will Do:<ul><li>Learn to Diagnose & Repair: Shadow senior techs to troubleshoot electrical, battery, and mechanical issues on top e-scooter and e-bike brands.</li><li>Assemble & Customize: Help build and configure our ready-to-ride custom-built scooters for customers.</li><li>Customer Interaction: Greet local commuters, check in their rides, explain basic repair timelines, and help process trade-in credits.</li><li>Shop Maintenance: Keep the workshop organized, clean, and stocked with tools so the team can move fast.</li></ul> What We Are Looking For:<ul><li>Hands-on Curiosity: Experience with basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, Allen keys). Background tinkering with bicycles, skateboards, RC cars, or basic electronics is a massive plus!</li><li>Willingness to Learn: You aren't afraid to ask questions, take direction, and learn how to safely handle lithium-ion batteries and complex electrical wiring.</li><li>Reliability: You show up on time, take pride in your work, and thrive in a busy, collaborative shop environment.</li><li>Communication Skills: Friendly, professional attitude when interacting with our local Bay Area customer base.</li><li>Bilingual: English/Spanish, fluent reading/writing/speaking.</li></ul> Physical & Legal Requirements:<ul><li>Strength & Stamina: Must be able to comfortably lift, push, and maneuver heavy electric scooters and e-bikes up to 50 lbs throughout the day.</li><li>Work Authorization: Must have valid documents to legally work in the US.
